Empower 50 youth with a menstrual health education session.
Rather than getting a candy bar at a vending machine, buy food, clothing, and other needed supplies for those in need around the world. Visit an Idaho Giving Machine kiosk near you!
Light The World Giving Machine kiosks are big red vending machines where you can donate special items to those in need through select local and international charities.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints sponsors the machines and covers the costs so that 100% of your donation goes to the charity you choose. The Giving Machine kiosks will return to East Idaho this holiday season.

The Giving Machine offers items for both local and global charities.

“Last year we invited our grandkids over to earn some money to support a local charity in the Giving Machines. They “learned” to wrap gifts for me and cleaned baseboards amongst other things. A few weeks later they took the money they had earned and we headed to the Giving Machines. It was pouring both rain and joy that day. Every step of the process was so fun and so memorable. I’m so grateful that it’s time to do it again this year.”
“Earlier this week, we told the kids about the Giving Machine and they got really excited. Then Jason came up with the idea that they could do jobs around the house to earn money, and we would match whatever they made! Baseboards were buffed, dust bunnies were busted, toilets cleaned, and rooms de-junked this week— with minimal whining! Miraculous! Then today we went as a family to the Giving Machine. It was wonderful! A woman approached us and told the kids how wonderful they were and they gave her hugs. It felt so amazing to hear my children’s excitement about giving a meal, or a sheep, or some vaccines to someone in need. #lighttheworld”
“Ranch chores for grandkids to earn money for the Giving Machine. Our grandkids wanted to earn money so that they could buy gifts and services for underprivileged children… So when the “Light the World” Giving Machines came to Knoxville, it was time to enlist the kids’ help to clean up our barns and work the ranch. Each grandchild earned a sum of $$ and spent it on the items they wanted to donate, taking no money for themselves.”
“Several kids from our congregation got together this last Saturday and put on a bake sale to earn money for the giving machines. They spent half the day baking and selling and through the generosity of our community, they will be able to purchase: 5 pajamas, 5 wool blankets, 4 sheep, 4 sets of chickens, 2 water pumps, 1 winter gear, 1 nutrition program, 1 month of formula for a baby – 54 lives impacted
truly love the difference these machines have on people around the world.”
“We love the Giving Machines! This year, the kids used their own money to choose items to donate, including chickens, shovels, and reusable menstrual kits for girls. It was such a meaningful experience, and having some cousins join us made it even more special!

“The Giving Machine is not just about donating to those in need, it is also about creating a memorable experience and teaching the next generation the true reason for the season: what it means to Light the World with goodness, service, and joy.”
Ambassador John Rakolta Jr. beautifully captures the spirit of generosity in his heartfelt poem:
